The Skincare Routine That Actually Works

You don't need 10 products. Just 4 or 5 fundamentals, done consistently.

1. Cleanser

Wash your face 2x a day. Skip bar soap — it strips your skin and makes it overproduce oil, causing more breakouts.

2. Tone

A toner sweeps away leftover residue and preps skin so everything you put on next absorbs better.

3. Exfoliate

2–3x a week, not daily. Clears dead skin so you look brighter and products actually sink in instead of sitting on top.

Best pick: salicylic acid if you're acne-prone — it gets into the pore itself.

4. Moisturize

Even oily skin needs this. Skip it and your skin overproduces oil to compensate — the opposite of what you want.

5. SPF

The real anti-aging product. Daily sunscreen prevents wrinkles and dark spots better than any serum.

Look for: SPF 30+, broad spectrum, not greasy.

6. Serums

Once the basics are locked in, target specific concerns.

Also worth knowing: Vitamin C brightens (use in the morning), retinol fixes texture and fine lines but needs to be introduced slowly.

7. Face Tools

Not essential, but they help with puffiness and product absorption — and feel great as a daily ritual.

The real secret: pick your 4 or 5 steps and stick with them daily. Consistency beats buying more products.
